Job Summary

The Accounting Associate performs a variety of general accounting support tasks for the reLink accounting and finance team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gathers data from sales order processing team and systems and accurately enter orders into the accounting system
  • Create reports in Excel and run sales and accounting reports from all reLink systems as needed
  • Verify accuracy of bills and other accounting documents or records
  • Record bills in accounting and order processing system as assigned
  • Verify and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts to ledgers
  • Contact customers to remind of payment deadlines and investigate problems customers are having approving and paying invoices
  • Compile and sort documents, such as invoices and checks; verify business transactions
  • Contact vendors or login to vendor systems to gain access to invoices
  • Maintain vendor and customer files
  • Support expense reporting and reconciliation process including verifying completeness of expense reports, coding and verifying purchases in accounting systems, verifying approval and track and file reports
  • Reconcile report discrepancies and problems
  • Prepare deposits for review, make deposits and replenish petty cash at bank
  • Prepare and enter journal entries as assigned
  • Process and mail outgoing checks
  • Contribute to month-end close by facilitating multiple reporting functions to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Assist employees, vendors, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures and services
  • Follow all finance policy and procedures; cross train in other processes
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information
  • Assists finance, office administration and HR departments on other projects and duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in accounting
  • Bachelors degree in accounting preferred
  • One or more (5) years of accounting or finance experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, including Excel, required

Competencies, Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Training or experience in QuickBooks and Salesforce highly preferred
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks and projects effectively and consistently set and meet delivery expectations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others inside and outside the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in professional environment with attention to detail, accuracy and ethical conduct
  • Detail oriented in performing tasks, managing records and reporting
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
  • The physical demand described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role is required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to finger.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35lbs

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
  • This is an hourly, non-exempt position

Minimal travel required as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
